「メディエーションズ・ビエンナーレ」(2010)の為に制作したインスタレーションである。ポズナン市民が廃棄した、重さ200キログラムを超える圧縮された段ボールのゴミを同じ高さに切断して、仮想境界面が出現することを示したものである。何故、圧縮された段ボールのゴミを選んだかと言うと……。そこからまさしくポズナン市民の息遣い迄呼び込める貴重な素材と感じたことに因る。
圧縮された段ボールのゴミを同じ高さに切断することはそれ程難しいことではない、と安易に考えていた。ところが、大木を切ることと同じぐらいの労力が要求されるもので、切る為に用意したチェーンソーは役立たなかった。ボランティアに集まってくれた人達も、一人、二人と逃げ出し、ポズナン城関係者の協力も得られず、暗澹たる気持ちになったが、ビエンナーレのコミッショナーが、自宅を修繕してくれたという大男の大工を呼び出して手伝ってもらえたことで、なんとかこの作品ができ上がったのだった。

This is an installation created for the “Mediations Biennale 2010.” It shows the emergence of “Imaginary Boundary Planes” by cutting blocks of compressed corrugated cardboard waste weighing more than 200 kilograms, discarded by the citizens of Poznan, to the same height. Why did I choose to use compressed corrugated cardboard waste? ... It was because I felt that it was a valuable material that could evoke the very breath of the citizens of Poznan.
I thought casually that cutting compressed corrugated cardboard waste to the same height would not be that difficult. However, it required as much effort as cutting a large tree, and the chainsaw I had prepared for the purpose was not up to the task. The people who had gathered to volunteer melted away, one or two at a time, and without the cooperation of ZAMEK Cultural Center officials, things looked bleak. However, the commissioner of the biennale summoned a carpenter, a big man who had repaired his house, to help, and somehow the work was completed.
